Welcome to my home.
Scenery along the Savuti channel
Its fun to play in the water. I can't make bubbles, but I can sure make a lot of spray
African fish eagle takes off
Zebras drinking from the marsh at Mombo camp Botswana
An African Darter drying its wings in the sun
A hyena moves slowly in the early morning cold silhouetted by the sunrise after a quick drink
It's tiring keeping an eye on everythng
Now that's the easy way to get from place to place. Keep going Mom.
The elephant family crossing the channel to go home after a long day.
Brown snake eating eagle. He's not fussy, he'll eat snakes of any color
Buffalo weaver, a small bird that makes big nests
Not much excitement today George. Even those guys with cameras don't seem too interesting.
Black Crake, a small wading bird among the reeds
Male lion sniffing the air to see who is around after waking in the morning
African open billed stork, he eats snails with that funny bill
This impala is mine and I put it up in this tree so I wouldn't have to worry about hyenas, lions, or jackals trying to steal it from me.
Even when I'm not hungry I need to sit in the tree and make sure no one comes and tries to take it away.
It's tiring work keeping watch like this
But have no doubt, I'm keeping an eye on you.
The black coucal is a large bird that eats marsh creatures
That's a frog going down the hatch.
Okay, so I'm a white rhino and I have a big horn. But I just graze on the grass, so please keep the poachers out of my africa.
You have to look carefully, but if you do you'll see there are a lot of us lions sleeping here. We are a big pride.
It's early and I'm tired, but I guess I'd better get up.
Male kudu showing off his horns
African fish eagle silhouetted against the setting sun's pink light on the clouds
I see you over there.
I know these oxpeckers are eating insects for me, but really "get off my back!"
Jacana. With those big feet he really does seem to walk on water.
Hmm no bubbles this time, but it's nice and cool in here.
I know it's hide and seek, but I just wanted to take a quick peek.
The scenery at Savuti is pretty special and adding a kudu or two helps.
Well I finished my impala and now I'm looking for my next meal.
Little green bee eater.
If I'm a wild dog, how come my coat looks like a crazy tabby cat?
Malachite kingfisher looking for a meal
Lunch hasn't come my way yet, but I'm still up in this tree looking. Good thing baobob trees are have such big trunks.
Pied kingfishers watching the water.
Beautiful scenery as the sun sets over savuti channel
The lion walking toward us in the early morning light as the sun reflects off ground fog in the background.
Am I really supposed to like picking through this elephant "stuff" to find insects?
A pearl spotted owl on the river bank.
Another sunset shot. The tree silhouettes and beautiful clouds in the sky were just too tempting.
Pied kingfisher close up.
